Summary & Thoughts of Presentations

SPC2608- First Blog Isaias Torres I loved all our presentations, but I wanted to highlight a few that stood out. Group 3 did chapters 9, 10, 11, and 12. These chapters included the importance of beginning and ending a speech, the use of language, presentation usage, and delivery of a speech. Liz pointed out very early that gathering your audience for a speech is vital. This is fundamental in preparing for your speech. Without an audience's attention, you don’t have a speech. You do not want to be speaking to people who are not interested. The first impression and how a person can reach the audience are essential. Learning that the audience must know the purpose early on is critical in setting the tone of the speech. Liz also mentioned the many ways you can start a speech, such as asking a question or speaking about a story related to the speech. These are great ways to start a speech and have your audience connected from the start. The conclusion was explained as well. Th...

Camila Marrero - First Blog

Summary of Presentations & My Opinion Camila Marrero SPC 2608   On our second class, we did presentations for all chapters. Each Groups had the choice to present different chapters. Since I was not present on the first day, I was unable to chose a chapter of my own. Instead, I picked out the key parts of those presented in my group and made a presentation on that. Everyone did great including my group. We all covered very important points when making a speech.   Personally, I liked my group the most because well for one it was my group and two we all did very great. My group did chapters 4,6,7, and 8. Chapter 4 which was presented by Isaias was very important in the sense that you need to establish which type of speech you are going to give before writing it. There are different things for example; persuasive speech, informative, and special occasion. These things need to be established beforehand so that when it is done you don’t leave your audience ...

Javier C Bonachea Professor S. Sinkoff SPC 2608 21, February 2023                         The beginning and the prologue        Everyone is always great at talking until it’s time to do a speech. You can see it in the eyes of most the anxiety, the nervousness in their voice, the lack of confidence in their body movements. That’s precisely what made this first project such an essential for this class. It was a great crash course on everything necessary for a great speech. Most people don’t realize how important speech really is. Speech is in essence the skill of being able to sell your idea, to be able to sell your image, whether it’s at a business conference or at a job meeting or even when trying to make friends to be able to properly talk and keep someone engaged is a very underestimated skill. I thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s chapter and it was a great refresher, I also thought coming into the pr...
Jessica Fundora            SPC 2608     Professor: Sherri Sinkoff        Miami Dade college To start, I would like to say all the presentations were amazing. I would like to talk about one of the presentations pertaining to my group. Her name is Camila Marrero. She spoke about Persuasive speech and explained how it will help convince, or in other words, persuade your audience your audience on topic. The informative speech is mainly to help your audience understand the topic you will be talking about. Another presentation that got my attention was Nicole Sanchez. She talked about the e characteristics of an informative speech. When you’re speaking informatively, the speaker's strength strengthens the knowledge and comprehension on a topic and raises awareness. She said there are four characteristics to having a good informative speech. The...
